Temple Overview: Located in the heart of Tirupati, the Anjeramma Temple is a sanctuary of "Shakti." The Goddess is depicted in a fierce yet benevolent form, ready to protect her devotees from evil eye (Drishti) and obstacles. For locals, she is not just a deity but a "Justice Provider." It is widely believed that no negative energy can enter the perimeter of this temple.
History & Legend: Anjeramma is a manifestation of Goddess Ankalamma. Legend says she was a fierce warrior who fought demonic forces to protect the villagers of this region. She is often associated with the Seven Mothers (Sapthamathrukas). Unlike the Vedic temples on the hill, this temple preserves the ancient folk traditions of the Telugu land, where the Goddess is treated as a mother who fights for her children.

Essential Visitor Information

The "Visa" Power & Miracles

In recent years, the temple has gained a reputation as the "Visa Temple" of Tirupati.
The Faith: Students and professionals facing delays in US/UK/Canada visas or immigration hurdles visit Anjeramma Devi.
The Vow: Devotees make a vow to perform a specific number of Pradakshinas (circumambulations) or offer a Pongal meal once their Visa is approved. Many return from abroad specifically to fulfill these promises.

Peak Days: Tuesdays and Fridays are "Power Days" when the temple is open until 10:00 PM to handle the crowd.

Local Pongal Poojas(Vow Fulfilment)

The most common sight at this temple is women cooking Pongallu.
The Ritual: In the open area outside or near the temple, devotees setup small brick stoves to cook sweet or salty Pongal in earthen pots.
The Purpose: This is done to "cool down" the fierce Goddess and show gratitude for health, child-birth, or successful abroad travel.

Detailed Darshan Types & Booking

Sarva Darshan (Free): The main way to visit. Wait times are usually 10–20 minutes on weekdays.
Friday Special: On Fridays, special Alankaram (decoration) is done, and the wait time can be 1 hour.
Current Booking: No online booking exists; all rituals and tickets are managed at the temple office.

Lemon Garland (Nimmakaya Mala): Devotees offer garlands made of 11, 51, or 101 lemons to the Goddess to remove "Drishti" (Evil Eye) and Vastu Doshas.
Kumkumarchana: Performed every Friday for women seeking a happy marriage and family prosperity.
Vahana Puja: Locals believe that getting a new car/vehicle blessed at Anjeramma temple prevents accidents.

Festivals & Important Days 2026

Annual Jatara: Celebrated with great pomp in the summer months (usually April/May).
Navaratri (October 2026): Nine days of different decorations where the Goddess is shown in her various forms.
Sravana Shukravaram: The Fridays of the Sravana month (August 2026) are highly auspicious

Dress Code & Etiquette

Attire: Traditional wear is preferred.
Men: Dhoti, Kurta, or Formal Trousers.
Women: Saree or Chudidar with Dupatta.
Etiquette: It is customary to light a Lemon Lamp (a lemon cut in half and inverted) in the dedicated lamp zone to ward off negativity.
