Site Overview: Papavinasam (meaning "The Destroyer of Sins") is a magnificent natural waterfall located 5 km from the main temple. It is the most popular bathing teertham in Tirumala, featuring a series of pipelines that allow pilgrims to take a "shower" bath in the holy mountain water.
History & Legend: It is believed that the water flows from the feet of the Lord. Taking a bath here is said to cleanse a devotee of the "Sanchita Karma" (accumulated sins) of several lifetimes. Nearby is the Sri Venugopala Swamy Temple, where the Lord is worshipped as a cowherd.
